About Us

We are a congregation of about 75 people, whom God has called from a variety of places. Some of us live in Brookline and walk to church; others drive in from farther away. Some of us grew up in the Presbyterian church; others grew up in other church traditions or without a church background at all. We are men and women, young and old, students, professionals, housewives, and retirees.

Because Brookline is home to many students and medical facilities, our congregation is fluid. People often come for a season in their lives--a degree, a fellowship, a research position, a job. We are intentional about our "ministry to the mobile," incorporating new members into the life and work of the church, and allowing opportunities for growth and service, knowing that God is working for our good and for the good of the whole church.

We are a reflective group. We are thoughtful about our faith. We like to read. We are curious. We seek to understand how to live authentically as Christians. We want to serve God where he has placed us, and to allow God to use us as, and where, he will.

We believe God, through the Holy Spirit, has called us, with the gifts and the concerns that we have, to work together to serve him. We wonder who God may be bringing to us next, to learn with and to learn from, to share with, and to be with us in God's service.
